  • Fire‑Resilient Housing. Evaluation of insulated‑concrete‑form (ICF) construction for post‑wildfire rebuilding in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Build With Strength, and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association.
  • 3D‑Printed Concrete & Extreme‑Environment Materials. Ongoing collaborative studies on layer‑bond performance, temperature‑resilience, and rapid fabrication for wildland‑urban‑interface and remote construction.
  • Precast Workforce Pipeline (PI). National Precast Concrete Association grant creating a dedicated precast curriculum, plant internships, and an annual “Precast Days” showcase at CSU Chico.
  • Durability of Prestressed Concrete Ties (Co‑PI). Multi‑site freeze‑thaw and field‑performance monitoring with the University of Illinois and the University of British Columbia for the Federal Railroad Administration.

His broader interests include nonlinear behavior of fiber‑reinforced and prestressed elements, early‑age thermal cracking, microstructural characterization, and low‑carbon cementitious binders.
