Lauren M McNamara EdD RDN
Lauren McNamara is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Dietetic Internship in the Department of Nutrition and Food Science. Her teaching and research interests include adult education, program assessment and evaluation, the Nutrition-Focused Physical Exam, simulation, clinical nutrition, intuitive eating, non-diet approaches, and health and wellness.
Lauren is a Chico State alumna, having completed both her master’s degree and the Didactic Program in Dietetics at Chico State. Prior to joining the Department of Nutrition and Food Science as an assistant professor, she worked in the clinical and outpatient setting as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Lauren earned her Doctorate in Education and brings her experience in dietetics, clinical practice, education, and program development to her work with students and the dietetics profession.
