I was born and raised in South Los Angeles. I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 2003 and moved to Chico soon after to begin my collegiate career. I graduated from CSU, Chico in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Latin American Studies. I worked for the Chico Unified School District for 7 and ½ years, serving as a Targeted Case Manager, advocating for low-income and second-language students/families. I have been with Academic Advising since February 2017. During this time, I earned a Master's of Social Work. My hobbies include spending time with family and friends, the outdoors, soccer, Judo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (currently a purple belt).
