Professor Jesse Dizard

Jesse A. Dizard, PhD (UC Berkeley, 2003) professor of anthropology at CSU Chico is a cultural anthropologist primarily interested in controlling processes, ethnic conflict, and natural resources management. He has conducted fieldwork in North Africa, West Africa, Alaska, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He has directed and produced eight documentary films, four of which have been nominated for a San Francisco regional Emmy Award. His current projects are about missing and murdered indigenous people in California and honor killings in the Middle East.
In Spring 2026, he was co-awarded the Lantis Research Project grant along with Dr. Pablo Cornejo-Warner in the department of Civil Engineering.
