Heather Werner, MSW, is a Chico State alumna (Title IV-E) and spent nine years working in child welfare adoptions before becoming a lecturer in Behavioral and Social Sciences in January 2015. In addition to teaching, she serves on the Curriculum Advisory Board as the Vice-Chair and IDeA Pathway Coordinator. Heather is a candidate for a PhD in Education and Leadership, researching the persistence of nontraditional students and student-parents in online programs. She is the owner of Redwood Institute of Social Research, conducting community-based research and evaluation.
