Professor Alonso earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Davis in 2023. As a doctoral student, she participated in the California State University Chancellor's Doctoral Incentive Program. Her research centers on American politics, with a particular focus on health policy and public health. In addition to her academic work, she is actively involved in community health initiatives and contributes to interdisciplinary efforts through the Data Science Initiative and the Master of Public Administration (MPA) professional association.
