Ms. Alonso has a master’s degree in Political Science from CSU, Chico and is currently a doctoral candidate in the department of Political Science at UC Davis. She is an Americanist who focuses on local immigration policy and public health in her research. She has served as graduate vice-chair of the UC Davis Health Fee Oversight Committee and on the Butte Glenn Medical Society Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force and is currently on the board of directors of the Butte County Health Care Coalition. In 2021, Ms. Alonso was nominated for the UC Davis Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award and is a CSU Doctoral Incentive Program Recipient.
