Nancy J. Meyer
Nancy Meyer is a Lecturer in Art Education and Foundations at California State University, Chico. Nancy was born in Massachusetts and reared in California. Growing up on the west coast and frequently visiting family in New England formed her perspective of "being" from both sides of the country. Nancy has an MFA from Lesley University College of Art & Design (formerly the Art Institute of Boston) where she was the recipient of the alumni award. Nancy also has a MA in Art Education from Boston University, a California Single Subject Teaching Credential K- 12 in ART, and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Nancy is a multi-media artist who primarily works in painting and photography. Nancy uses the artists’ studio to explore the current socio-cultural landscape in the United States and through her ethnographic research, she looks at the world around her in order to better understand herself. Nancy’s work is actively being shown at many galleries throughout the U.S. and recently written about as a prominent artist in the MINT 5 juried art exhibition Atlanta, Georgia as an upcoming cultural producer in contemporary art.
