Matthew Aaron Hiller
Matt Hiller is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Chico State and is currently completing his doctorate in social work and anthropology at the University of Michigan. He received his master's degree in social work from the University of Chicago and has practiced in hospital, community mental health, and private practice settings. He has also completed certificate programs in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy. His doctoral research focuses on the use of ketamine in mental health treatment. Their teaching interests include Culture and mental health, psychotherapy methods, diagnosis and assessment, fundamental of social work practice and research interests lie in Anthropology of psychiatry and mental health, language and meaning in clinical practice, social work and medicine, psychedelic psychotherapy, obsessive-compulsive disorder, epistemic and therapeutic pluralism
