Megan G Zollinger
Megan Glynn Zollinger holds a BA in Dance from Chapman University and an MFA in Dance from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where she studied under renowned choreographer Donald McKayle, who also served as her thesis advisor. During her graduate studies, she created Addicted, a full-length work she wrote, directed, and choreographed, and choreographed the world premiere of Eve’s Rapture, written by Bryan Reynolds and directed by Robert Cohen at the Hayworth Theatre in Los Angeles. In 2009, her work a tearful view was selected to represent UCI at the California College Dance Invitational.
Following graduate school, Megan served as Jazz Dance Director at Westlake School for the Performing Arts in Daly City and continued teaching and choreographing with Lisa Clark Dancers, where she began her own training as a young dancer. Her former students have gone on to perform on Broadway, appear in film and television, and work internationally as performers and educators.
Megan previously served as an Assistant Professor and Director of the BFA Dance Program at Colorado Mesa University, where she also served as a guest choreographer for the Colorado Dance Education Organization and presented and taught at American College Dance Association conferences.
In 2017, Megan joined the faculty at California State University, Chico. She is now a tenured Professor, Dance Program Coordinator, and Associate Chair of the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance. Her choreography and directing credits include productions at universities, professional theatres, and arts organizations nationally and internationally.
A native of Napa, California, Megan began dancing at age four and was teaching and choreographing by age 15. Her early training in commercial dance, musical theatre, and voice continues to inform her work as a choreographer, director, and educator. Since 2019, she has been a freelance writer for DancePlug, and in 2025 she joined the advisory board of OASIS Center International, a nonprofit arts foundation focused on expanding arts education for youth. She is a member of NDEO, ACDA, and MTEA and has completed Best Practices training through Theatrical Intimacy Educators.
