Dr. Al Schademan is currently the Director of the School of Education at Chico State. He has taught coursework in foundations of teaching practice, science education, and research methods. His research interests focus on preservice science teacher education, identifying the assets that students of color bring to science and mathematics classrooms, teacher professional development, co-teaching, issues of college student retention with first generation low-income youth, and factors affecting the success of Hmong college students. He enjoys gardening, working on house projects, hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking and rock climbing.
