Amy is an alumna of CSU, Chico with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science; Health Services Administration; Certificate in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). She earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration; emphasis Health Services Administration from the University of San Francisco. Amy’s course instruction includes Management Principles in Health Services, Chronic and Communicable Diseases, Public Health Policy and Systems, Public Health Administration, and Internship Seminars. She also serves as the Health Services Administration (HSA) Internship Coordinator.  

Amy is a retired Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) as well as a former American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center Coordinator, Basic Life Support (BLS) Regional Faculty member, and BLS CPR Instructor. Her passion has always been in the field of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), both clinically and managerial, and she enjoys teaching healthcare and public health courses to future health leaders. Her focus is on teaching students the importance of connecting healthcare with public health and challenging students to see public health and healthcare management as more than managing, but being leaders in an industry that is ever-changing. 

Amy is active in the community, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and Reclaim Our Vote. Outside of teaching and community service work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys (and their Jack Russell, Bella). She loves exercising, camping, hiking, and reading.
