Bow Rice
A lecturer in the Department of Ethnic, Gender, and Queer Studies, Bow Rice is Hmong American woman. She was born in the United States whose family was among the many Hmong families who resettled in the North State following the genocide of the Hmong in Laos after the Vietnam War.
Bow Rice is passionate is advancing diversity and inclusion, promoting equity for all, and fostering a strong sense of belonging, no matter who you are. She has remained a steadfast advocate for the Hmong and an ally for many.
In addition to teaching, Bow Rice works full-time at the Butte County Department of Behavioral Health, within the Quality Management division, providing oversight of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative.
