Anna Flores
I was born in Southern California and raised in Northern California by migrant parents who instilled in me the importance of education. As the first of seven children, I was also the last to attend college—encouraged by my daughter, who had recently graduated from Chico State.
As a non-traditional transfer student, I began my academic journey at Butte College before transferring to Chico State in 2013. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) in 2015 and my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2016. During my time at Chico, I was actively involved on campus, serving as a Peer Advisor for the Summer Orientation Program and as an Advising Intern with Academic Advising Programs.
My campus involvement helped cultivate a strong passion for supporting student success. Since joining Academic Advising Programs as a Staff Advisor in 2016, I have continued to work with diverse student populations, providing guidance and connecting students with essential resources. In my roles as Educational Equity Specialist and advising liaison to the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, I play a key role in supporting and engaging students across campus.
As a dedicated San Francisco Giants fan, I can often be found attending games during the season. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, sewing, and caring for my many indoor plants and two cats, Pawdrey Hepburn and Katniss Everbean.
