Teaching and Research Interests
Prior to joining the School of Education at California State University, Chico in 2026 as a faculty member and clinical supervisor, I taught history and English language arts at the middle and high school levels and later served as an MTSS coordinator. My teaching and scholarship focus on educational neuroscience and brain-based learning, teacher preparation and development, rural education, teacher self-efficacy, workload, burnout, and attrition. I am particularly interested in translating research from neuroscience and the science of learning into practical, evidence-informed instructional strategies that improve student learning while supporting teacher effectiveness and sustainability.
